The GradStaff Placement Process

We screen all candidates with a behavioral-based interview.
We focus on the core transferrable skills and attributes that predict success in the workplace. Our model was developed based on behavioral science research performed at the University of Minnesota. Using this research we evaluate candidates on twelve separate criteria, including:
- Technical Knowledge
- Analytical Skills
- Organizational Skills
- Initiative
- Motivation
- Confidence
- Maturity
- Communication Skills
- Interpersonal Skills
- Leadership
- Professionalism
- Integrity
In addition, we also perform a career exploration with each candidate in which we evaluate career interests, career goals, work environment preferences and other criteria
We perform a job analysis for each position.
Our Account Managers complete an on-site job analysis for each new position. We learn about the company's unique culture. Then, we make sure that we understand the duties of the position and the attributes that predict success. The job analysis allows us to develop a profile for the ideal candidate.

We match the perfect candidate for each position.
Our behavioral-based interview process allows us to determine the skills and attributes for each of the candidates we interview. When we combine this information with the job analysis profile, we are able to select the right candidate for each position.
Here are some statistics demonstrating our success with college grads:
Over 90% of the candidates we place meet or exceed client expectations. Over 80% of the candidates we place on long-term assignments are hired by our clients. Over 90% of the candidates we place would recommend GradStaff to a friend or relative.
Our model includes interviewing and pre-qualifying candidates, and then placing them in positions with our client companies. We fill long-term (permanent) positions using either an Evaluation-To-Hire or direct hire model. We also fill shorter term assignments using a project-based staffing model.
Evaluation-To-Hire
Well over 50% of college grads leave their first position after graduation within 2 years. This is expensive for hiring companies. For candidates, the wrong job fit can be a nightmare. Our Evaluation-To-Hire model is intended to make sure that both parties are comfortable with the fit before the hiring company makes a direct job offer. In the ETH model, once the client decides that they would like to have our candidate fill a position, GradStaff hires them as a GradStaff employee. Candidates are assigned to the client location where they work under the client direction. At the completion of the ETH period, typically 4 months, the client may extend an offer of full-time employment. ETH is our most popular staffing model since it helps insure that the fit is right for both parties
Fee-Based Placement/Direct Hire
While most of our clients prefer the ETH approach, some feel more comfortable with a direct hire model. We have developed a flexible direct hire program, which is comparable with other fee-based search firms, and allows our client to hire directly, bypassing the typical four month evaluation phase.
Short-Term/Project Staffing
Short-term or project-based positions can last anywhere from a few weeks to many months. They are a great way for candidates to get experience, enhance their resume and earn a competitive income. This approach is perfect for people who aren't sure what they want to do, aren't ready to commit to a long term career, or have plans for graduate school.
