Company HistoryGradStaff has a long and successful track record of helping companies fill their entry level and early stage positions with top-notch talent. It started back in 1998 when David Weyerhaeuser moved back to his hometown of Minneapolis/St. Paul after a 7-year stint as an entrepreneur in the Czech Republic. Mr. Weyerhaeuser, who had started a temporary staffing firm in Prague, joined forces with a Chicago based partner and they created the GradStaff concept. The company operated in Chicago and Minneapolis/St. Paul and became known as a leader in those markets for placing top-notch recent college graduates. In 2002 Mr. Weyerhaeuser bought out his original partner and joined forces with Bob LaBombard, who came to GradStaff with a successful track record in the staffing industry. Mr. LaBombard previously had started a temporary staffing firm called EnviroStaff, Inc. which he grew to 13 offices nationwide in 3 years before being acquired by On Assignment, Inc. a publicly traded staffing firm based in California. Mr. LaBombard joined GradStaff as CEO and quickly put his mark on the company by aggressively steering the company into new market segments as well as plotting future growth plans. The company intends to replicate the success Mr. LaBombard had at EnviroStaff and plans to aggressively expand the GradStaff concept to major metropolitan markets across the U.S. over the next several years.

Robert J. LaBombard, CEOMr. LaBombard has over 23 years of business experience in the chemical, environmental, professional services and staffing industries. He has over 10 years of staffing industry experience as founder and CEO of EnviroStaff, Inc. and CEO of GradStaff, Inc. He has been a leader in helping client companies develop comprehensive strategies to fill both short- and long-term staffing requirements. As founder and CEO of EnviroStaff, he built a national staffing firm serving clients from 13 locations within three years of founding the company. EnviroStaff was acquired by On Assignment, Inc.Since joining GradStaff in May 2002, Mr. LaBombard has been instrumental in developing a standardized model to identify and deliver high quality candidates to fill entry-level and early-stage positions. Now serving several major metropolitan markets, his goal for the company is to expand the GradStaff brand to serve the top metro areas across the country and internationally. His educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry from Williams College in Williamston, MA and an MBA degree from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University in Evanston, IL.
David C. Weyerhaeuser, Founder/CFOMr. Weyerhaeuser is the Founder and CFO of GradStaff, Inc. His experience in the staffing industry goes back 10 years to when he started WorkPlus, a full-service staffing firm located in Prague, Czech Republic. He grew WorkPlus to be one of the 5 largest staffing firms in the country before selling it and moving back to the United Stated in 1998. At that time, he co-founded GradStaff and currently serves as its CFO. In addition to his staffing industry experience, Mr. Weyerhaeuser has broad financial experience working in investment banking at Lehman Brothers in New York and commercial lending at Norwest Bank in St. Paul, MN. He also worked 3 years in Washington D.C. for Congressman Bill Frenzel as a legislative assistant responsible for all Ways and Means Committee matters related to taxation.Mr. Weyerhaeuser currently serves on the Boards of US Trust, The Nature Conservancy of Minnesota, Twin Cities Public Television and the Yale Alumni Club of the Northwest. His educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Political Science from Yale University and an MBA from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University. |
