How It Works

If you’re a recent college graduate (or will be soon) and actively looking for an entry-level professional position, we can provide the guidance, coaching and interview opportunities you’ll need to be successful. If you’re like most of the grads that apply with us, you may not know where your education and skills can be applied in the work force, what positions are a fit for you, who’s hiring or even how to conduct a job search. If that describes you, you’ve come to the right place.

Once we have your resume, we’ll do an initial candidate evaluation to determine if we think our process will be helpful for you. If so, we will conduct an initial phone interview to describe our program in more detail and learn more about your background and the status of your job search. If there is mutual interest in moving forward, we’ll begin the steps below:

Our Process

Our process is always free for job seekers and has been designed to ensure that we understand each candidate’s unique skills, abilities and career interests. Once you submit your resume, key steps may include:

Interview and Career Exploration

The first half of your interview with us is a behavioral-based interview in which we identify your key transferable skills that have value in the workforce. In the second half of the interview, we perform a career exploration and fully review your career goals, past work experience, and other life experiences. Additionally, we provide coaching – a critique of your current job search strategy and feedback on your resume, interview approach and other important factors.

Job Opportunities

When we have a position that we think fits your background, we will describe it to you, have you research the company and the industry, and then ask you to confirm your interest and why. Our candidates find this step to be highly valuable and essential in truly understanding the opportunity and why we selected you.

Client Interview and Placement

With your interest confirmed, we present your background to the hiring company, confirm their interest and schedule an interview for you. We will help you prepare for the interview and give you feedback after it is over. If selected by the client for the position, we will coordinate the on-boarding process.

At any given time, GradStaff has hundreds of positions open across the U.S. While there is an excellent chance that we will have a great match for your skills and career interests, our business moves quickly and we cannot guarantee that we will have the right position for every candidate. As a result, candidates should also keep their individual job search efforts active.

Transferable Skills

Our behavioral-based interview uncovers your transferable skills: attributes such as critical thinking, motivation, leadership and initiative. These are “soft skills” that employers look for when hiring and can set you apart from the competition. Most importantly, these are the attributes that determine long-term career success. But oftentimes entry-level job seekers aren’t sure what their transferable skills are or how to describe them well in applications and interviews. That’s where we can help.

For candidates interested in a sales career, we also look for people who are competitive, results-oriented and resilient. These three attributes, combined with strong communications, time management and interpersonal skills, often are highly predictive of a successful sales career.
